The partnership between Toyota and Maruti has enabled Toyota to launch rebadged Maruti cars in different car markets. The Toyota Glanza was a re-badged version of the Maruti Baleno. Similarly the Maruti Urban Cruiser is the re-badged version of the Maruti Vitara Brezza. Find more below if the Toyota Urban Cruiser is different from Brezza.

If you see Maruti Brezza and Toyota Urban Cruiser side by side, you will see that the front grille, front bumper are different for both the cars. The interior colour difference is also the only indicator. The main difference will be in the warranty of the cars. The Toyota and Maruti badges on the respective cars are also a difference.

Exterior looks and Design

Forgetting Brezza for a second, the front look of the Urban Cruiser looks a little similar to the new Toyota Fortuner. The front grille and bumper helps stand the car out in the crowd.  The base variant of the Toyota Urban Cruiser comes with projector headlamps. This sub-compact SUV also has 16-inch wheels. Dual-tone exterior colour in the higher trim is an absolute delight.  The rear look of the SUV is also pretty decent with all modern cosmetic enhancements. 328 litres of boot space is more than sufficient for day to day usage.

Rear Seats and Interiors

The rear seat comes with 60:40 split and fully becomes flat on deployment. You also get a centre armrest with two cup holders and adjustable headrest. Three adults can easily sit and travel in the car. This SUV is one of the most comfortable cars for rear-seat passengers. The front seats are also pretty decent and not a problem for long trips.

The coffee brown interiors present in this car may or may not appeal to everyone in the Indian car market. As this is a rebadged Maruti car the dashboard of the car mainly consists of hard plastic. There are some soft touchpoints available.  The door Thud noise is also decent. Only telescopic steering wheel adjustment is present with the car. Automatic climate control, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and steering mounted controls add a premium touch to the SUV. The 7-inch Smartplay infotainment system is not the best in the segment but decent enough.

The first two variants of the Toyota Urban Cruiser are pretty value for money in their segment. However, if you want more features, rivals of this car provide much more features at a lower price. If you want a car with great driving experience, great visibility, promised resale value, segment-best warranty and a slight premium touch, the Urban Cruiser makes perfect sense.
