With Indian manufacturers gaining popularity during this recession, Tata Motors an Indian brand has established some new benchmarks. Although the news of JTP models being discontinued was a disheartening blow to automobile enthusiasts in India we believe everything happens for good and the same may become true anytime soon.

Tata JTP

Tata and JTP jointly launched only the Tigor and Tiago. While a Nexon JTP and Altroz JTP were rumoured to be in pipeline, it never made it to the showroom.  Recent spy pics, however, hint that Tata Motors may still be launching a sportier version of their offering, the Tata Altroz.

Changes in the test mule

According to our sources, the heavily camouflaged test mule was spotted in Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. Coimbatore also serves as a base for Jayem Automotive, people behind JTP.  No particular detail of the car was visible, but gold coloured body paint can be seen, hinting towards Altroz. LED taillights also look similar to the Altroz. As a result, we can expect no major design changes in the Altroz as the Tiago and Tigor JTP

Changes on Turbo Petrol

Tata Altroz

Both the Tiago and Tigor JTP got a new, performance-tuned engine and the same can be expected for the new Altroz. Some minor cosmetic changes will surely be made to differentiate from standard versions. The test car is also seen riding on Alloy wheels, adding to its sporty look.
