India is really a growing market, in the current times there has seen a lot of demand for mid-displacement engines. Many premium motorcycle manufacturers are investing in the bikes for India which is really a nice thing. Honda is a very well known and popular brand in India. And it seems that this popular brand didn’t want to disappoint us. After the successful launch of the new African Twin, the manufacturer is planning to bring many other bigger bikes in India. Specifically, we are likely to get all of the Honda 500 cc lineups.

Honda CMX500 Rebel

The entire 500 cc lineup of Honda is based on the single platform, so the bikes share the same engine and multiple parts as well, The Honda 500 cc lineup includes CMX500 Rebel, CB500F, CBR500R and the CB500X. The CMX500 Rebel is a cruiser, while the CB500F is a streetfighter.

Honda CB500F

If you have selected the bike you are going with, then let’s have a look at the power figures. The entire lineup shares the same engine. It’s a 471 cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin fuel-injected unit that produces about 47 bhp max power and 43 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes paired with a six-speed gearbox. The engine is claimed to make a good amount of power and torque at 3000-7000 rpm.

We can say that these bikes will have a strong mid-range. All these bikes are equipped with conventional telescopic suspension at the front which is a little bit unusual for a 500 cc bike. Also, these bikes come with a single disc at the front and not twin disc. Nevertheless, we will see the braking performance after the launch.

Launch Date and Price

The launch of the Honda 500 cc lineup is expected by the end of this year or somewhere in the Q1 of 2021. The bikes while coming in India will be a CKD product so it will definitely have slightly higher price tags. The Honda CMX500 Rebel, the cruiser motorcycle is supposed to be priced around Rs 4.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Other motorcycles of the Honda 500 cc lineup should be slightly expensive than the Rebel.

The pricing should vary between Rs 5-6 lakhs (ex-showroom).

Honda CB500X

Competition

These bikes will be competing against respective segment bikes. Such as Honda CMX500 Rebel will compete against Kawasaki Vulcan S. While the Honda CB500X will be competing against Benelli TRK 502 and 502X.
