Benelli has been consistently getting new products to the Indian market and is all set to launch the TNT 25. With the adventure biking scenario heating up in the country, Benelli has its eyes set on bringing its adventure tourer, the TRK 502 to India in 2016.

As per our sources, Benelli is still not firmed up its decision, but is very enthusiastic about the TRK 502 and would like to be one of the first to cater to this segment in a affordable fashion.

The TRK 502 has a twin-cylinder, four-stroke liquid-cooled 500cc powerplant, with electronic injection, overhead double camshaft timing system, and 4 valves per cylinder. This engine churns out around 47bhp of peak power at 8,500rpm and a 45Nm torque at 4,500rpm. A six-speed gearbox is mated to this unit and also has hydraulic clutch in place. A large fuel tank which can store 20 litres of fuel is a stand out feature.

The TRK 502 is loaded with features that make it a touring-friendly mile-muncher, that keeps the rider happy. Suspension setup at the front is an adjustable upside down front fork, and at the rear has a  monoshock, the travel being 150mm for both. Front disc brakes are 320 mm in diameter with two-piston floating caliper unit, and a single 260mm disc at the rear. The TRK 502 is shod with Pirelli Angel 120/70-17 at the front and 160/60-17 at the rear with alloy wheels. Benelli also has an option of an off-road version that will have 19-inch spoked wheels at the front and 17-inch at the rear.

While motorcycle manufacturers like KTM, TVS and Royal Enfield have plans to launch their touring bikes, Benelli is also looking at grabbing a share of this emerging segment of affordable tourers.

However, the TRK 502 may make it to Indian shores, only by the end of 2016.
