Aprilia has been always keeping us dreaming for their sports bike for India. However, this time it seems that Aprilia is actually fulfilling our dream, it is been suspected that Aprilia will bring the mid displaced RS660 for India. The bike is been listed on the official Aprilia’s international website. But wait is it really coming in India?

well, it seems like a 50-50 percent chance for the bike to come in India. If Aprilia RS660 really comes what will it have then? let’s find it out.

Engine

The international spec Aprilia RS660 comes with a 660 cc parallel-twin, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled engine. It produces massive 100 bhp max power, yes you read it right it produces power which matches bigger displacement bike. Peak torque is still not revealed which excites even more. Now to control the massive power it comes with wheelie control. Also even more electronic gadgetry includes cornering ABS, cruise control, five ride modes and a two way quick shifters. And the list doesn’t even end here, it also comes with a Bluetooth connected five-inch TFT screen with two display option.

The Aprilia RS660 India bound should come with all these features.

Weight

Talking about weight, it’s even more exciting than the electronic gadgetry. The bike just weighs 169 kgs (dry weight) which are super cool for the bike that has 100 bhp of power. The bike comes with 41 mm adjustable USD forks at the front made by Kayaba and a mono-shock suspension at the rear. The brakes will be sourced from the popular Italian brand the Brembo. The front braking will be done with the help of 320 mm twin disc at the front. The swingarm design also well suits the overall design. Nevertheless, let’s talk about the key design elements.

Design

The bike is a faired motorcycle and comes with a sharper design language. The LED DRLs of the headlamp unit very nicely meshes with the front fairing and gives it a very unique look.

The rear portion of the bike doesn’t look less than a racing bike. The riding posture of the bike will be a little bit relaxed than a racing motorcycle. The bike will be propositioned as a sport-touring machine.

Price

RS660 front

The Aprilia RS660 India bound will be a CKD product so it will have a nice premium price tag in India. The bike is supposed to be priced around Rs 12-13 lakhs (ex-showroom) in India. It will compete against Kawasaki ZX-6R and Honda CBR650R. Piaggio has started their Baramati plant so we can’t expect the decisions to be soon. The launch is expected by the mid of 2021.
