Honda Activa 125 or Grazia – Which to buy?

Honda always has a wide scooter range and sometimes two or more scooters do occur in the same segment or the price range. It does confuse the buyer while choosing the scooter. One of the most common confusion of the Honda Scoters in about Activa 125 and Grazia. So, we will differentiate these two products so that you will be able to choose perfect scooter for you.

Design

The first difference between these scooters is about styling. The Honda Activa 125, on the one hand, is a simple and professional-looking motorcycle. The scooter gets the chrome and piano black finish on various elements. At the front, the scooter gets  LED headlamps and sleeker profile. Overall, the Activa 125 looks like a skinny and sophisticated scooter.

On the other hand, Honda Grazia is more on the sportier side. The front panel of the scooter is quite big and makes the scooter quite bulky in terms of appearance. Unlike the Honda Activa 125, the headlamp unit is situated on the front panel. The headlamp unit is a LED unit. The grab handle, silver and black finish on the motorcycle make the scooter even sportier in appearance. Overall, the design is mostly lovable by the college-goers.

Engine

Both the scooters get a similar displacement 125 cc engine. The Honda Activa 125 is currently in the BS6 form and produces around 8.1 bhp max power and 10.3 Nm of peak torque. While the Honda Grazia isn’t currently available in the BS6 form but we can expect the upcoming BS6 Grazia to share the same engine of Activa 125. Previously, the BS4 engine of Grazia produced around 8.52 bhp max power and 10.54 Nm of peak torque.

Features

Honda Activa 125 gets pretty upmarket and segment trending features. It comes with a semi-digital instrument cluster. Along with that, the scooter comes with Honda’s new silent start system that allows the scooter to turn on very quietly.

The scooter features external fuel lid, multi-functional stitch and many more.

On the other hand, Honda Grazia comes with the fully digital instrument cluster, multi-functional switch, cubby holes. The scooter misses out on several new features such as silent start system, external fuel lid. We can expect these new features to come in the BS6 upgrade.

Specifications

The Honda Activa and Grazia get a similar level of hardware equipment. Both the scooters get telescopic suspension at the front and mono-shock suspension at the rear. Barking duty of both the motorcycle is done by a disc brake at front and drum brake at the rear.

There’s also the base variant with drum brake at the front. Brakes are then assisted by combi-brake system that allows both brakes to work simultaneously when pulled any brake lever. The wheel size for both the scooters is 12-inch for front and 10-inch for the rear.

Overall, both the scooters are equipped with pretty upmarket hardware.

Pricing

Honda Activa 125 BS6 is priced at Rs 70,476-77,526 (ex-showroom). The Honda Grazia BS6 is yet to come but if referred the previous pricing then it should have the hike of Rs 6,000-7,000. The BS4 model of Honda Grazia costs Rs 63,269 (ex-showroom).

Verdict

Honda Activa 125 is quite popular for its practicality. Due to the narrow width than the Grazia, the scooter is quite easy to ride for ladies and senior citizens. So if you are in need of a scooter that can be ridden by most of your family members as well as make a professional style statement then we think it will be a nice choice. Honda Grazia is sporty looking scooter and is quite wide. The scooter enhances the sporty style statement but loses on some practical bits. So if you loved the design of the scooter and are Ok with less practicality compared to Activa 125 then it is a nicer choice.
