2018 Yamaha Fascino launched at ₹ 54,593 (ex-showroom)

The 2018 Yamaha Fascino is launched by India Yamaha Motors. The facelift of this scooter gets minor changes. The refreshed Yamaha Fascino scooter is priced at Rs. 54,593 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Some of the changes in the new 2018 Yamaha Fascino include a new Fascino badging and updated chrome garnishes.

The changes in the new Fascino are only cosmetic in nature. The scooter is a unique looking one because of its retro styling. It looks straight out of a comic book. It also gets new graphics on the body. The graphics look modern and are placed on either side. wThe seat gets a new dual tone colour cover. This makes it more attractive than before. The scooter is available in seven colours which are Glamorous Gold, Dapper Blue, Beaming Blue, Dazzling Grey, Sizzling Cyan, Spotlight White and Sassy Cyan.

There is no change in this scooter mechanically. It gets powered by a single-cylinder 113cc engine with a single overhead cam. Yamaha’s Blue Core technology in this engine,  increases the combustion efficiency due to better cooling, which does reduce the power loss due to heat.

There is not much difference in the price of the new model. The Fascino is priced similar to the outgoing model. The Yamaha Fascino competes with the Honda Activa and TVS Jupiter.

2018 Yamaha Fascino Features

The feature list is identical on the 2018 Yamaha Fascino. The scooter gets a telescopic front fork and a monoshock at the rear. There are 10-inch wheels both at the front and the rear. They get tubeless tyres. Yamaha only offers drum brakes and there is no disc brake option yet, which is a big disappointment. The Fascino takes on the likes of Honda Activa 5G and TVS Jupiter. It differentiates itself due to its retro looks.

2018 Yamaha Fascino Mileage

The company claims an efficiency of 66 km/l which is an excellent figure to claim. However in real riding conditions, it will return around 45km/l in the city and may go upto 52 km/l on the highway. That is good enough for those looking for daily commuting. Yamaha has given a 5.2 litre fuel tank size so the range is pretty good too.

2018 Yamaha Fascino Specifications

The Fascino is powered by a 113cc engine that churns out 7bhp of power and 8Nm of torque. The engine is powerful enough even though the figures state a different story. It is quite powerful, reliable and even efficient. This is the third scooter to get this engine. The vibrations on the scooter are a bit harsh at idle, but that happens only when it is running on very low fuel.

2018 Yamaha Fascino Dimensions

Considering its longer length and wheelbase it stands at 103 kgs of weight. Yamaha seems to always have a trick up its sleeve. Sadly, the ground clearance seems low and ends up hitting mainly those illegal speed breakers. This is one aspect Yamaha desperately needs to work upon. The suspension is on the softer side, so the ride is pliant.
