Alto CNG launched with BS6 engine.

The Maruti Suzuki Alto CNG will now be available with a BS6 compliant engine. Previously, Maruti has gained a lot of success in this segment by selling over 1 lakh units of the Alto CNG. Maruti is marketing the product as S-CNG and says that it has added some new systems in so as to make it a peppy car and not lose much of its performance over the petrol version. Engine and gearbox

The Alto BS6 CNG will have the same 800cc engine of the petrol, but it will produce about 40bhp and 60nm of torque. This comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Maruti says that it has used dual interdependent ECUs( Electronic Control Units) and an intelligent injection system. This according to the company will help to deliver better performance for both city and highway usage.

Alto BS6 CNG pricing

The Alto has continued to show strong numbers in its sales and has constantly been one of the best selling cars in the country. This car mainly attracts first-time car buyers. With the new CNG kit in the car, it will achieve a claimed mileage of 31.59 km/kg. This car will be even more attractive to buyers who are concerned about mileage. The car will only be available in two variants which are the LXI  costing about 4.33lakh (ex-showroom) and the LXI(O) which costs 4.36lakhs(ex-showroom), the latter having some additional features such as a passenger airbag.

Alto CNG features

The Maruti Suzuki Alto BS6 CNG has features like power steering, front power windows, fabric and vinyl upholstery, dual-tone interiors on the inside. On the outside, it gets body-coloured bumpers and door handles. Safety-wise, the car gets dual airbags, ABS with EBD, seatbelt reminder, high-speed alert, rear parking sensors and more.
