Maruti cars to be showcased in Auto Expo 2020

The Auto Expo is a chance for car manufacturers to showcase their upcoming car launches as well as concept cars. It also helps the companies who are manipulating over getting a particular model to India. This is one of the few places where they can gauge the response of the public to their car and therefore decide if they want to actually bring it. The biggest car manufacturer in India Maruti has a number of cars in its lineup to showcase at Auto Expo 2020. Let us take a look at it.

Futuro-e concept

As covered by us earlier the launch of the Futuro-e concept could actually be a reality soon, with the compact SUV being the favourites of Indians. We also believe that the car can be electric and therefore will be the first electric car tom be offered by the manufacturer.

Vitara Brezza petrol facelift.

With the launch of the new BS6 engines for the Brezza, the company plans to launch a facelift in its popular SUV. It is expected to get sleeker headlamps as well as tail lamps with added safety features and better interiors, and the addition of an all-new petrol engine. At the Auto Expo 2020, we could also see an extended 7 seater version of the Vitara Brezza to compete with the new Compact SUV segment.

Swift sport

The Swift Sport which is the 140hp fully blown hot hatchback offered by the company in international markets is also expected to be showcased. This car has gained lots of popularity outside the country, but sadly it does not seem to be a priority for the company with there being very little chances of the car actually making it to the showrooms. With the Baleno RS being discontinued because of the BS6 norms we see some hope of this vehicle to be shown at the Auto Expo 2020.  The Swift Sport will be the perfect hot Hatch to replace the Baleno RS. This might also be called the Swift RS.

Maruti Jimny

The Jimny is an interesting offering by the company, that loosely resembles the original Gypsy that was offered by the company. That car was very popular with Indian consumers. It gets a boxy design which is also very popular in many global markets. Although it is said not to be launched anytime soon. Seeing at the Auto Expo 2020 might give us the idea if we can expect a 5 door version of the Maruti Jimny

XL5 crossover

There have been many speculations surrounding this car ut we believe that this will be the brand new WagonR. It was also rumoured to have an electric variant. There is a huge possibility of this car being launched in the country and will be sold through its Nexa dealerships.

These are the cars that Maruti has confirmed as well as some of them rumoured to be in the auto expo 2020. With Maruti stressing more on the SUV market, as it has not necessarily captured a big share of this segment. Check out our video on the Auto Expo.
