Its also shifting its focus from entry level bikes to larger capacity ones. After the success of the Gixxer 150, Suzuki seems to working on a new 250cc bike for India. This will be the GSX250R. Satoshi Uchida, MD, Suzuki Motorcycle India, has revealed that Suzuki is shifting its focus from the mass market. As per ET Auto, Suzuki’s aim is to reach 10% market share, hence their focus is on premium bikes and also scooters. Uchida has also expressed desire to manufacture the Suzuki GSX250R in India and look at exporting it too, thus, making India a global base for this bike.

The Gixxer SF FI 155cc, is priced just under INR 1 lakh (on-road pricing). Suzuki will look at getting the GSX250R at about ₹ 2.5 lakhs (on-road). This way it can undercut the Yamaha R3 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300, which are a ot more expensive, due to high import content. The GSX250R, if localized, can be sold at this price point

Suzuki GSX250R Engine and Transmission
A twin-cylinder 249cc engine will be powering the Suzuki GSX250R. This will be churning about 35bhp of power and close to 24Nm of maximum torque. It will come mated to a six-speed box.
The engine will be a high revving one, with linear power instead of the outburst. Most of the power shall be delivered at higher engine speeds. This will make it fun to rev as the motor shall be a highly refined unit. This is good news for twin-cylinder fans.
