Renault India will be launching the Kaptur SUV in India. This SUV has also been spied several times in form of a test mule. The Renault Kaptur will be based on the same platform that also underpins the Duster. Renault have been looking to target the Hyundai Creta which has received phenomenal success in India and has also sidelined the Duster. The Kaptur will be a more premium SUV that will be able to compete with the Creta and the Mahindra XUV500.

The Renault Kaptur is expected to be launched around the festive season this year and this will be a good time for Renault to capitalize on this new vehicle. There is no other launch from the French manufacturer this year. It will be manufactured at Renault’s Chennai facility. The Renault Kaptur will most likely use the same engines that are offered on the Duster, however, with some tweaks. It will also be positioned above the Duster and hence be more premium as well in terms of looks, refinement and features.

How will the new Renault Kaptur be? Will it offer good value? Is it worth waiting for? Read further as we preview this upcoming SUV.

Renault Kaptur Launch Date in India

Renault India has not announced anything as yet, However, we expect the Kaptur to be launched during the festive season, which is by early October 2017. The Duster is now old and is losing market share as well. The Kaptur is a much needed product for Renault to keep its market intact as well as its customer base too. The Kaptur is expected to once again pull back customer to the Renault brand, those who had ventured to other brands due to lack of options at Renault.
