Just a few days back we covered a story on safe Maruti cars which were mainly SUVs. But to our surprise, the Maruti Swift has successfully scored 4-star safety ratings. Do note that the new Swift continues to be built on the Heartect platform which never had a good impression for safety. That said, scoring 4-star ratings on the Heartect platform for the new Swift is like icing on the cake ahead of its planned launch in India.

Maruti Swift Crash Test

Maruti Swift Safety - maruti swift

Just before India launch, the all new Maruti Swift has been tested at J NCAP crash test facility. J NCAP stands for Japan NCAP. So how did the Swift manage to score 4-star safety ratings? Well, the primary reason could be the addition of the ADAS system on the new Swift. Along with that, the crash test event showcased the rigidity of the new Swift as the cabin stayed intact in frontal and side pole collision tests.

While making its way to India however, the Swift will lose on features like the ADAS. That said, we are expecting similar safety ratings on the Indian model as it will likely get 6-Airbags as standard. The new Swift will probably get tested at Bharat NCAP crash test facility which has different ways of testing cars with relaxed parameters than the other crash test facilities.

Maruti Swift Safety – Maruti SUVs Crash Test

Along with the Maruti Swift, Maruti SUVs like the Brezza and the Grand Vitara are also expected to be crash tested at Bharat NCAP. Both these SUVs are built on Suzuki’s Global C platform which has done well before. That said, with added safety kits, we are expecting these to score full 5-star safety ratings.
