When we talk about safety, Tata, Mahindra and Skoda are the usual brands we talk about. The only brand which is usually ignored is Maruti Suzuki, as its past safety ratings are not impressive at all. However, things are likely going to change soon as three Maruti SUVs are expected to set records at the Bharat NCAP safety test.

According to sources, Maruti will likely send its compact SUV, the Brezza to Bharat NCAP. The new Maruti Brezza is based on Suzuki’s Global C platform which has previously scored better at the safety test. The Maruti Brezza was previously tested by the Global NCAP wherein the SUV scored impressive 4-star safety ratings. Also, the variant which was crash tested was equipped with only 2-Airbags. Now, the SUV comes with 6-Airbags and is highly expected to score 5-star ratings at Bharat NCAP crash test facility.

The next SUV which will be tested by Bharat NCAP is the Maruti Grand Vitara. This SUV is based on the same Global C platform as the Brezza, so expectations are high. Just like the Brezza, the Grand Vitara is also equipped with 6-Airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP and other safety equipment. Also, the heavier build can help the Grand Vitara score full 5-star safety ratings at Bharat NCAP.

Finally, the SUV or the MPV which can score 5-star ratings is the Maruti Invicto. Unfortunately, there are no reports of Maruti sending the Invicto for crash test. That said, the Invicto is Maruti’s version of Toyota Innova Hycross which is based on the TNGA C platform. Now Toyota is known for safety and being based on Toyota’s architecture, the Invicto is expected to score 5-star safety ratings.

Other than these, Maruti will likely send their hot selling hatchback, the Baleno, for crash test. Maruti Baleno is based on the Heartect platform which has a poor impression for safety. The Baleno was previously crash tested at Latin NCAP wherein the hatchback scored 0-star safety ratings. That said, the 2024 Baleno is now equipped with 6-airbags on the top-spec variant and feels better built, so we can expect a better score at Bharat NCAP.
