Hyundai i20

The i20 has always been known as a spacious hatchback. Its most recent model continues this trend as it comes with an ample amount of space in the second row. In our Maha comparo scores, the i20 scores a generous rating of 8/10 compared to its segment. The i20 had an ample amount of shoulder room, good knee room, decent thigh support and good headroom. Also, the seat is quite firm and offers good recline offering great comfort on long journeys. Additionally, we have a charging port and bottle storage in the rear. 

Maruti Fronx

After the i20, we have the Maruti Fronx on our list. The Fronx scores 8/10 in our Maha comparo tests. It offers a wide second row leading to an ample amount of shoulder room. Also, the knee room is good, the headroom is decent, and the thigh support is decent. Overall, the Frnx does offer a comfortable ride on long journeys. Additionally, we have rear AC vents and charging sockets in the second row. Pricing of the Fronx starts from Rs 8.71 lakh and goes to Rs 15.24 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Best second row cars – Nissan Magnite/ Renault Kiger

Next up, we have cars that truly revolutionised the SUV segment with their pricing & features. Though both cars seem small they do offer good enough space. In our tests, the Magnite/Kiger duo scored 8/10 in its segment. Both these SUVs offered good shoulder room, good knee room, decent headroom and good enough thigh support. Nissan and Renault have tuned the suspension for comfort and it shows that both the cars are quite comfortable. Pricing of the Magnite starts from Rs 7.39 lakh, while Kiger starts from Rs 7.04 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). 

Tata Nexon

A list like this would be incomplete without the Tata Nexon. In our maha comparison, the Nexon scored 8/10 in the second-row seating test. The main reason for its high score is because of its good shoulder room, which is the best in this segment. The headroom is decent enough, the knee room is quite good, and the thigh support is quite good. As a product, the Nexon is revered for its suspension and that would mean a comfortable ride. Pricing of the Nexon starts from Rs 9.60 lakh and goes to Rs 19.08 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). 

Best second row cars – Maruti Brezza

Along with the Nexon, we have its C-SUV rival on this list. In our Maha Comparo, the Brezza scored 8/10 in the second-row seating test. The shoulder room here is more than enough, the headroom is decent, knee room and thigh support are decent. Overall, the suspension is comfort-oriented and the Brezza is quite a comfortable car. Additionally, the Brezza comes with rear AC vents, charging ports and a rear armrest. Pricing of the Brezza starts from Rs 9.72 lakh and goes to Rs 16.63 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
