The sunroof has quickly become the most sought-after feature in the Indian market. Once sunroof was only offered on luxury cars, but now almost all of the new cars are coming with it. However, it was still a novelty in the under Rs 10 lakh segment, but in the last few weeks, some manufacturers have introduced special sunroof variants to cater to this segment. Let’s talk about affordable cars with sunroof under Rs 10 lakh.

Tata Altroz – XM(S) – Rs 8.78 lakh

Currently, the Altroz is the most affordable car to offer sunroof in India. Last year, Tata launched the Altroz XM (S) variant to offer the sunroof at an affordable price. Other than the sunroof, we have a 7-inch infotainment system, 4 speakers, drive modes, remote keyless entry, reverse parking sensors, etc. The Altroz comes with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine capable of producing 86bhp and 115Nm of torque. Transmission options include only an MT in this variant. 

Hyundai Exter – SX 1.2 MT – Rs 9.63 lakh

Next up, we have Hyundai’s micro-SUV, the Exter. In the Exter, you get a sunroof from the SX variant. Other than the sunroof, the Exter  SX comes with features like projector headlamps, an 8-inch infotainment system, automatic climate control, and electrically folding mirrors. The Exter SX comes with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine capable of producing 81bhp and 114Nm of torque. Transmission options include manual and AMT. It also comes with CNG paired with this petrol engine.

Kia has taken the obsession with sunroof to the next level. It offers a sunroof from the second to the base variant. The HTE (O) variant only gets an electric sunroof and sunglass holder as an extra. Other features include halogen headlamps, all-black interiors, rear AC vents, Manual IRVM, etc. Under the hood, the variant only comes with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine capable of producing 81bhp and 114Nm of torque. Transmission options include only a 5-speed manual. 

Tata Punch – Accomplished petrol MT – Rs 9.83 lakh

The Punch comes with a sunroof from its Accomplished Dazzle Sunroof variants. In this sunroof pack, you get the obvious sunroof and other features like auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, roof rails and shark fins. Other features include LED DRLs, a 7-inch infotainment system, a reverse parking camera, fog lamps, etc. Under the hood, the Punch comes with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. It is also one of the few cars to offer a CNG on its sunroof variants.

The last car on the list is the Hyundai i20. The Sportz variants go above Rs 10 lakh, but marginally and you can get discounts on the i20. With the sunroof, the Sportz variant comes with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine capable of producing 81bhp and 114Nm of torque. Transmission options include manual and automatic options. Feature-wise, the Sportz variant comes with 6 airbags, TPMS Highline, an 8-inch infotainment system, cruise control, Rear AC vents, etc.
