The Punch continues to rake in record sales numbers. In March, it was the best-selling car in the country, which is no mean feat. But before the Punch, the market was shaken by the Nissan Magnite. It had that SUV-like design and lots of features. The car still doesn’t feel outdated, but Nissan is working on its facelift to keep it up to date. Now a new spy shot of the car has popped up online. In today’s article, let’s talk about this Tata Punch rival.

Spy shots

In the spy shots, we can see a heavily camouflaged car. It is easy to guess this is the Magnite from the overall silhouette. At the front, there seem to be some subtle tweaks on the grille and bumper. Overall changes are hard to find, but we can see the new alloy wheel design. No connected tail lamps are visible, currently, so props to Nissan for not joining this trend blindly.

Tata Punch rival – What to expect?

We expect some design changes on the facelifted model. Hopefully, Nissan doesn’t tinker much with the front design as it already looks quite good. In the interiors, we can expect new upholstery and some tweaks. According to reports, Nissan could add a sunroof, auto-dimming IRVM, 6 airbags and ventilated seats on the Magnite facelift. Current features like a 360-degree camera, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging and rear AC vents.

Specifications

Being a facelift, we don’t expect Nissan to tweak the specifications. It will continue with the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (71bhp & 96Nm) paired with a 5-speed MT and AMT gearbox. The second option is the more powerful 1.0-litre turbo petrol (99bhp & 160Nm) that comes mated to a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox.

Tata Punch rival – Launch details

According to reports, Nissan could launch the Magnite facelift by mid-2024. With the car spotted testing, we think the launch will happen in this specific timeline. What about the price hike? Currently, the Magnite starts from Rs 7.39 lakh and goes to Rs 13.16 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). With the facelift, we can expect a hike of Rs 50k to 60k depending upon the variants.
