What comes to mind when we say Tata Motors or Tata cars? Safety, right? Well that’s true as Tata Motors has done a fantastic job with the safety it provides in its cars. Crash Test Result

Shockingly true, Tata Nano tested in 2014 scored 0-star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash test for both child and adult safety. The primary reason for scoring no safety ratings was the fact that Tata Nano never came equipped with airbags.

Now although the lack of airbags was a big bummer, the Nano came with solid build quality. Even a few real life crashes showcased how strong the Nano actually was. Nonetheless, Tata Motors backed themselves well and today we can see its cars being equipped with all the modern safety features, including ADAS.

Tata Nano

Launched back in 2008, Tata Nano was one of the dream project cars of Ratan Tata. The dream was to offer a car at a low price which could be affordable for many. However, announced as the cheapest car of India, backfired the marketing plan of Tata Motors. That said, Tata Nano was India’s first small size car which came with its own positives. Firstly it was affordable, and secondly it was an easy task to manoeuvre the Nano through city traffic. Sadly the sales just kept dropping, forcing Tata Motors to stop the production in 2018.

Tata Nano EV

Fast forward to 2024, we have the MG Comet EV which is currently the smallest car in India. On the other hand, Tata Motors have also been dominating in the EV segment with the Nexon EV and the Punch EV. The smallest EV in its lineup is the Tiago EV which directly competes with the MG Comet. So will Tata bring an EV smaller than the Tiago? Well, looking at how the brand has grown in recent years, bringing a Nano-size EV or a 3-door EV may draw sales for Tata. Also, this time around, nothing will possibly go wrong for the brand, thanks to the trust it has built over the years.
