As you have guessed, it is the Skoda Kodiaq that has received a discount of Rs 2 lakh. The massive price cut has been made on its top L&K variant. Also the good part is that Skoda has not deleted any features while offering the discount. Along with that, Skoda has discontinued the lower variants from the Kodiaq line up. That said, the Kodiaq will now be available in only the L&K variant at Rs 47.82 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).

Skoda Kodiaq as a product

Skoda Kodiaq has an elegant design which has its own style statement. The cuts and creases make the SUV look modern and aggressive. There are no fancy exterior elements which makes the design age well. Inside, the Kodiaq comes with a spacious and luxurious interior complimenting the exterior look. Feature-wise, the Kodiaq comes with LED ambient lighting, three-zone climate control, an electric tailgate, an 8.0-inch infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a Canton sound system etc. In terms of safety features, it comes with 9 airbags, ESC, a 360-degree camera, blind spot detection etc. 

The Kodiaq gets a 2.0-litre petrol engine that produces 187bhp & 320Nm of peak torque. All this power is channelled through a 7-speed DSG transmission. This 2.0-litre unit is one of the gems of the engines and with the Skoda’s DSG gearbox, Kodiaq is a fun to drive SUV.

Skoda Future Plans

Globally, Skoda has launched the next generations of its premium car line up. It includes the new Kodiaq, new Superb, and the new Octavia. Will any of these make its way to India? Well, Skoda has recently announced that the pre-facelift Superb which was previously on sale in India will make a comeback in the coming few months. This will help the brand to analyze the demand for the sedan and plan the launch for new generations of Superb and Octavia accordingly. Whereas there is no official statement on the new gen Kodiaq but we can expect it to come as the love for SUV is endless in India
