Tata Altroz Racer

Tata Altroz Racer upcoming

The first upcoming Tata hatchback to come from the company in 2024 will be the Altroz Racer. A sportier version of the Tata Altroz, the new model will come powered by the Nexon’s 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine. This unit is rated for 118 bhp and 170 Nm and comes mated to a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT gearbox.

Expected updates to the new model include a new paint scheme, black alloy wheels, a new 10.25-inch touchscreen, a 360-degree camera and a digital instrument cluster among others. Expected to launch in the first half of 2024, the Tata Altroz Racer will face stiff competition from the Hyundai i20 N-Line in India.

Tata Altroz Facelift

Tata Altroz Facelift upcoming

Four years after its launch, the Tata Altroz is expected to receive a mild facelift in 2024. Changes to the new model are expected to be cosmetic and in line with the upcoming Altroz Racer with new features like a 360-degree camera, 10.25-inch touchscreen, ventilated seats and more. We expect the upcoming Tata car to continue with the 1.2-litre petrol, 1.5-litre diesel and 1.2-litre CNG engine options.

While the launch date for the Altroz Facelift is still not confirmed, we expect the new model to hit the market around July 2024. Rivals to the Altroz include the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza and the Hyundai i20.

Tata Altroz EV

Tata Altroz EV upcoming

Expected to launch before the end of 2025, the new Altroz EV will be the company’s last new EV based on the Gen 2 Activ.ev architecture. First showcased in 2019, the Altroz EV project has been plagued with technical challenges that forced Tata Motors to move from an ICE platform to a pure EV platform. The new electric hatchback will be identical in design to the Altroz Facelift but feature EV-specific changes to the grille bumper and alloy wheels.

In terms of powertrain, Tata could offer the Altroz EV with two battery pack options – 25 kWh & 35 kWh providing a range of 315 km and 421 km respectively. Performance levels on the upcoming Tata car model are expected to be identical to the recently launched Punch.ev, with which it will overlap in price.

Next-Generation Tata Tiago

Tata Tiago upcoming

The last hatchback model expected to come from Tata Motors will be the next-generation Tiago. With a complete overhaul inside out, the new model is expected to offer full 5-star safety to its occupants. Key changes on the outside could include a more evolutionary design with a new grille, updated headlamps and bumper. On the inside, we expect the upcoming Tata car to come provided with 6-airbags as standard along with a larger touchscreen, updated semi-digital instrument cluster and a premium sound system.

Powertrain options are expected to remain the same but feature mild updates for better NVH levels. While Tata Motors has not confirmed the launch date for the next-gen Tiago, we expect the new model to hit the market sometime in 2025.

Alongside the Tiago update, we also expect Tata Motors to refresh the Tigor sedan with more safety features. This update will also see the compact sedan get a mild cosmetic refresh and major feature addition.
