Recently the spy shots of Hyundai Creta facelift was leaked online wherein we got a sneak peek of the interiors and we have covered all the details already. Now, The Carshow YouTube channel has spotted the Kia Sonet facelift and again we have images of its interiors and exteriors. So what changes could we expect? Let’s find out.

What’s New in the Kia Sonet Facelift?

The images spied of the test mule of Kia Sonet facelift is likely to be the mid-spec variant. The reason being, there is no radar for the ADAS and 360-degree camera on the spied image. The Sonet facelift is highly possible to get this tech on the top-spec variant which will be shared with recently launched ADAS-equipped Hyundai Venue.

The car was however completely camouflaged and hence not many details were revealed. That said, the SUV could possibly get redesigned front and rear bumper and refreshed LED headlights and LED DRLs. Also, the test mule was spotted with redesigned tail lamps that could get connected treatment and the overall layout seems to be similar to that of Seltos facelift. The test mule was also spotted with a new set of 16-inches alloy wheels, front parking sensors, single pane sunroof, shark fin antenna and a lot more.

Kia Sonet Facelift

Few changes were seen on interiors too. It will now get beige colour for the seats while the overall cabin remains black. The major change however was seen in the centre console. The test mule was spotted with a new panel for the climate control. The new panel now looks cleaner and less cluttered than the outgoing model. The test mule was also spotted with rear sun blinds, rear armrest with twin cup holders, 3-point rear seat belts, and rear AC vents that are already present on the current model.

Engine Specifications 

The Sonet facelift will continue with the same powertrain as now. The options include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine (82bhp/115Nm), a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine (118bhp/172Nm), and a 1.5-litre diesel engine (114bhp/250Nm).

The 1.2-litre NA petrol comes mated to 5-speed manual transmission while the 1.0-litre turbo petrol comes mated to 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT transmissions. The diesel duties are handled by a 6-speed iMT and a 6-speed Torque Converter transmissions.

Kia Sonet Facelift – Launch 

According to reports, the Sonet facelift could be launched by the end of this year. Also, with the changes it is bound to receive, you can expect a hike in the prices. With facelift, the Sonet will compete with Tata Nexon facelift, upcoming Mahindra XUV 300 facelift, Maruti Brezza, and its own sister, the Hyundai Venue.
