Mahindra Thar 5-door interior spotted in detail!
It is no surprise that Mahindra is working on expanding the Thar portfolio. It is working on the 5-door version to make it a more practical option for families. Mahindra is testing the Thar 5-door in various parts of the country. This means we are getting a lot of spy shots of this car. However, no spy shots till now have showcased the interior in detail, until now. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Mahindra Thar 5-door interior.
Mahindra Thar 5-door interior – Spy shots
The spy shots were sent to us by one of our readers, Utsav Jain. He spotted the Thar 5-door near the Mumbai-Pune expressway. The main highlight of these spy shots is that we get a sneak peek into the interiors. Straight away, we can see the bigger infotainment system. It also has buttons at the bottom, but they look more premium compared to the 3-door Thar. The rest of the AC control vents and HVAC controls look more or less similar. Another new addition is the centre armrest and cup holders. Mahindra has also changed the seat upholstery giving it a more premium look.
In the exterior, there are no major visible changes. We can see a steel spare wheel that shouldn’t be the case on the production model. Overall, the road presence of the Thar 5-door looks quite impressive.
What else to expect?
The Thar 5-door could share its mechanical bits with the Scorpio-N. This could include the engine options of 2.0-litre petrol (200bhp/370Nm) and 2.2-litre diesel engine (172bhp/370Nm). The transmission option should include a manual and an automatic option on both these engines. As a whole, Mahindra could add more storage spaces in the Thar 5-door.
Launch and pricing
The Thar 5-door is going to come sometime in 2024. Seeing Mahindra’s track record, it could be on the 26th of January or the 15th of August. What about the pricing? We think the Thar 5-door could start from Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom).
