Skoda sedans like the Octavia and Superb enjoy a cult following in the country. Sadly, Skoda had to discontinue both of them due to the BS6 stage 2 norms. Now Skoda is bringing back the Superb. But what about Octavia? There is some good news. Skoda is rumoured to bring back the Octavia RS iV to India. So what to expect? In today’s article, let’s talk about the Skoda Octavia RS iV India.
Skoda launched the Octavia RS iV globally in 2020 on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the RS brand. The RS iV is one sporty-looking car blacked-out front grille and a sharp headlamp design. The black air dam design and fog lamp enclosures give the car a menacing look. It gets blacked out ORVMs and red RS badges. At the rear, we get a slightly tweaked tailgate design with a small spoiler completing the look.
Skoda Octavia RS iV – Interiors
In the interiors, the RS iV continues with its sporty nature. It comes with a three-spoke steering wheel, and integrated headrests on the front seats. There are also red inserts in the blacked-out cabin adding that sporty outlook. Feature-wise, it continues with the 10-inch infotainment, digital instrument cluster, ventilated seats, and heads-up display like the normal Octavia.
The Octavia RS iV comes with a plug-in hybrid setup. This would make it one of the first plug-in hybrid options in the country. It comes with a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine. This 148bhp combustion engine is paired with an electric motor that has an output of 113bhp. The total power output from the engine and battery is 241bhp and 400Nm of torque.
With the battery pack, the RS iV has an electric range of 60km. In terms of numbers, the sedan can do the 0-100kph in 7.3 seconds. The top speed is a bit lower at 225kmph compared to the 250kmph possible in the earlier version.
Skoda Octavia RS iV – Launch and pricing
According to media reports, Skoda had plans to launch the Octavia vRS sometime in 2023. Skoda has been quite silent about it, but there is a chance of it coming in 2023. If not for 2023, we should see the Octavia vRS sometime in 2024. Pricing-wise, the Octavia vRS is coming through the CBU route, making it expensive. It could be priced around the Rs 45 lakh to 50 lakh mark, making it quite expensive.
