The BS 6 Stage-2 norms had major implications for Skoda in India. It had to discontinue the Octavia and Super as it didn’t want to update the petrol engine. But now there is some good news, Skoda is bringing back the Superb with the updated engine. Still, it has become a lot more expensive. Why? We explain all that in detail. In today’s article, let’s talk about Skoda Superb 2023.

CBU route

Unlike before, the Superb will not come through the CKD route. Rather it will be completely imported into the country. Skoda will be bringing it through the GSR 870 rule that allows manufacturers to bring 2,500 units without homologation. This will help Skoda bring back the updated 2.0-litre petrol engine mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox without homologation.

New things

The new Skoda Superb will only come in the top-spec L&K trim. It will also come with some new ADAS features like lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control. It will also get park assist with a 360-degree camera. Another change is the new Columbus infotainment system that was not available on the earlier spec. New colour options will include Water World green and Rosso Burnelli. Magic Black colour will continue from the existing palette.
