EVs currently comprise a small portion of the Indian market. However, that is expected to change in the future. Tata currently has a massive lead in the EV segment. It wants to extend its advantage further with the Punch EV. The Punch EV is just around the corner, with the launch expected to happen in October this year. Seeing this, Hyundai has also started working on the Exter EV. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Hyundai Exter electric.

Exter EV

Just after the launch of ICE Exter, the spy shots of the Exter EV surfaced online. The car had no visible changes in the exterior but didn’t sport an exhaust pipe. It also had different steel wheels than the ICE Exter. In its production guise, the Exter EV could get more changes on the exterior, like blue highlights and EV badging.

Hyundai Exter electric – Expected specifications

Hyundai is working on the Casper EV for its home market in South Korea. This Casper EV is expected to come with a 40kWh battery pack, and we can expect a battery pack in a similar range on the Exter EV. It could come with a claimed mileage between 300km to 350km. Hyundai could wait and look for what battery pack Tata offers on the Punch EV. It could look to outdo the Punch EV in this aspect.

As stated above, the Exter EV was spotted testing sometime back. Hyundai has yet to give any official confirmation on the Exter EV. However, it makes sense for Hyundai to bring the Exter to take on the upcoming Punch EV and also the eC3. Hyundai could launch the Exter electric in the next two years along with the Creta EV.
