TVS X – 5 things to know about this electric scooter
TVS has finally launched the much-awaited X electric scooter. TVS showcased the Creoon concept long back in 2018. It seemed like TVS had forgotten about this altogether. But no TVS took its time to bring a finished product. It launched the X in a grand ceremony in Dubai highlighting its importance. So what are the 5 things to know about it? In today’s article, let’s talk about the TVS X.
Design
The TVS X is one unique-looking product. It is a combination of a scooter and a bike professional called a maxi-scooter. TVS has smartly used the combination of Red, Black and Blue. At the front, we get LED headlamps, it gets an LED setup. Overall, the X looks like quite a futuristic scooter.
Performance
TVS is claiming the X as the only scooter tuned for performance in the country. It comes with a 7kW motor that produces around 40Nm of torque. TVS claims that the X can go from 0 to 40kmph in just 2.6 seconds. Interestingly, Ola claims that its S1 Pro can do it in just 2.2 seconds. Coming back to the X, it comes with a top speed of 105kmph.
Battery & range
The X comes with a 4.4kWh battery pack. The IDC claimed range of TVS X is 140km. In terms of charging, a fast charger can take the X from 0 to 50% charge in just 50 minutes. The X comes with a portable charger that charges it up to 0 to 80% in 3 hours and 40 minutes.
Features
TVS has given the X a thing Indians love nowadays i.e. a big touchscreen. It comes with a tilt-adjustable 10.25-inch horizontal instrument touchscreen. You can set themes, wallpapers and different profiles on this screen. There is a proper navigation system that lets you plan routes and more. Other highlight features include cruise control, reverse mode, single-channel ABS (only electric scooter to offer this) and three riding modes.
Price
TVS has launched the X in only 1 variant which is the standard variant. This variant is priced at Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Its pricing on-road, Mumbai, should go up to 2.63 lakh. It’s quite a steep price for an electric scooter, but TVS has tried its best with its unique design and features.
