Toyota has found a good way to fill the product gaps in its portfolio with the help of Maruti. Soon it will be launching the rebadged Ertiga as Rumion in the country. After that, it is going to launch another rebadge in the form of Taisor. What is Taisor, you may ask? It is the name which Toyota could give to the rebadged version of Fronx. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Urban Cruiser Taisor.

Changes

Toyota will be making an effort to change the exterior design. The Taisor could share its design with the HyRyder like the Fronx does with the Grand Vitara. We could see a smaller grille and eyebrow DRLs on the Taisor. Other tweaks could include new headlamps and refreshed bumpers. The side profile should remain the same. What about the rear? The rear could also get new bumpers to add a new identity.

Similarities

Barring the design changes, most of the things should remain the same. It will continue with the 1.0-litre BoosterJet engine (100bhp/150Nm) and 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol (87bhp/113Nm). Transmission options will remain the same. The Taisor could also come with a CNG option like the Fronx. Other things like the 9.0-inch infotainment, ARKAMYs sound system, wireless charging, heads-up display and more should continue on the Taisor.

For now, Toyota is focusing on launching the Rumion. It has revealed the car and now will be announcing the price of the MPV. Then Toyota will be bringing the Taisor around October or November this year. What about the pricing? The pricing of the Fronx starts from Rs and goes to Rs (on-road, Mumbai. We can expect the Taisor to be Rs 30k to 40k more expensive than the Fronx. Toyota will compensate for that with an extra warranty.
