Nissan has had a topsy-turvy ride in the Indian market. It has tried various strategies with limited success. Currently, it is surviving on the sales of the Magnite. Nissan knows that it needs to act fast if it wants to survive in the country. To that effect, it is working with Renault on several new products. One of them could be the return of the Terrano. How? In today’s article, let’s talk about the new Nissan Terrano.

Details

Nissan Terrano

Renault and Nissan are working on several new products based on the CMF-B platform for the Indian market. The first car based on this platform will be launched by Diwali 2025. This is likely to be the new-generation Duster. The new-generation Duster will also be shared with Nissan. Considering earlier Nissan used to sell the rebadged Duster as Terrano, we can expect the same on the newer model.

What to expect?

Renault has started testing the new Duster in Europe. From the spy shots, the car looks like a smaller version of the Bigster concept. It comes with a big boxy design with a modern front design. We can expect a similar silhouette on the Nissan version of the Duster. Specification-wise, the new Duster could come with only petrol engine options, as Renault & Nissan don’t want to localise their diesel engine.

Renault’s sister company Dacia has started rigorously testing the new Duster in Europe. The Duster is still a few years away from an India launch. According to reports, the India launch could happen by Diwali 2025. We expect Nissan’s iteration to be launched in a similar time frame.
