Top 10 selling SUVs in India in June 2023
June was a slow month in terms of new launches and unveils. Not much happened, barring the unveiling of the Honda Elevate. Still, this hasn’t impacted sales number one bit. Yesterday we covered the top-10 selling cars, and now we are bringing the top-10 selling SUVs in the country. In today’s article, let’s talk about the top SUVs in June 2023.
Hyundai Creta – 14,447
The Hyundai Creta has retained its dominance at the top for the second month in a row. The Creta is the only SUV to breach the 14k mark this month. Creta’s popularity stems from its various engine options and the wide array of features. Hyundai sold 14,447 units of the Creta in June 2023. In comparison, Hyundai sold 14,449 units in May 2023.
Tata Nexon – 13,827
The Nexon has lost its crown to the Creta, but it is still making good sales. Tata will be hoping with the facelift launch, Nexon could grab the spot back from Creta. Currently, the Nexon is packed with features and comes with a variety of engine options. In June, Tata sold 13,827 units of the Nexon, seeing a minor drop from the 14,423 units sold in May.
Top SUVs June 2023 – Hyundai Venue – 11,606 units
The Venue has grabbed the third spot on this, making it a double podium for Hyundai. The Hyundai Venue has been making decent sales since its facelift was launched in the second half of 2022. Like the Creta, the Venue is known for its features and transmission option. Hyundai sold 11,606 units of the Venue in June 2023. In comparison, Hyundai sold 10,213 units of the Venue in May 2023.
Tata Punch – 10,990 units
Tata realised pretty early that people were willing to buy any type of SUV. With SUVs in demand, Tata played it right by launching the Punch. The Punch, with its nifty features and its SUV, feels at an affordable price and is doing good. Tata sold 10,990 units of the Punch in June 2023. In comparison, Tata sold 111,124 units in May 2023.
Maruti Brezza – 10,578 units
The Maruti Brezza had a major sales drop this month. From being in the top three, it has dropped to the 5th spot. Maruti will be hoping this is just a minor blip. The Brezza is known for its high reliability and the features it offers. In June, Maruti sold 10,578 units of the Brezza. A major drop from the 13,398 units sold in May 2023.
Top SUVs June 2023 – Maruti Grand Vitara – 10,486 units
Slowly and steadily, Grand Vitara is climbing up the sales chart. For the current trends, Grand Vitara is doing well by Maruti’s standards. The strong hybrid setup and AWD are surely giving the Grand Vitara an advantage. Maruti sold 10,486 units of the Grand Vitara in June 2023. A meaningful rise from the 8,877 units sold in April 2023.
Mahindra Bolero – 8,686 units
Even with the launch of modern SUVs, the Bolero continues to be Mahindra’s workhorse in the Indian market. The Bolero is especially popular in rural areas due to its ruggedness and capabilities. Mahindra sold 8,686 units of the Bolero in June 2023. Last month, it made 8,170 sales in May 2023.
Mahindra Scorpio – 8,648 units
Following the Bolero is another Mahindra car, the Scorpio. Just note the sales figures of the Scorpio have both the Scorpio-N and Scorpio Classic. In June, the duo raked a combined sales of 8,648 units. A minor drop from the 9,318 units sold in May 2023. The N is bringing in new buyers with its modern design & features, while the Classic continues to tap into the existing fan base of the Scorpio.
Top SUVs June 2023 – Maruti Fronx – 7,991 units
The Fronx continues to ride high on the initial sales frenzy. Maruti seems to have done the right thing by bringing in the beefed version of the Baleno. The Fronx has its plus points with its design and features. Maruti sold 7,991 units of the Fronx in June 2023. A substantial decrease from the 9,863 units sold in May 2023.
Kia Sonet – 7,722 units
For another month, Sonet has taken the lead role in Kia’s SUV lineup. Maybe with the launch of the Seltos facelift, Seltos will leapfrog the Sonet. As a product, the Sonet is known for its bold design and its premium interior quality. Kia sold 7,722 units of Sonet in June 2023. A slight decrease from the 8,251 units sold in May 2023.
