Jeep has been quite an aspirational brand in the country. Still, the last few months have been horrific for the brand. It has not been able to even muster 1k sales, which is abysmal. The only hope for Jeep is that it aces the EV transition in the country. How can it do that? It could bring the Avenger EV to India. In today’s article, let’s talk about the Jeep Avenger EV.

Design

Jeep Avenger EV

The Jeep Avenger is 4,080mm in length, 1780mm in width & 1530mm in height. So for tax benefits, Jeep will have to chop off some parts at the rear. Talking about the design, the Avenger comes with the traditional Jeep grille with modern headlamps. The side profile looks like a toned-down version of the Compass. At the rear, we have blacked-out tail lamps.

Specifications

For today’s article, we will be only talking about the EV specifications. The Avenger EV comes with a 54kWh battery pack. Jeep claims that the Avenger can do 400 to 450km on a single charge. This is quite a good amount of range compared to cars in this segment. Motor-wise, the Avenger comes with a 154bhp motor that also produces 260Nm of torque.

Jeep Avenger EV – India launch

Jeep Avenger EV

In Europe, Jeep sells both the ICE and EV version of the Avenger. The major problem is that the Avenger is not an affordable option even though its compact dimensions. So it is highly unlikely it will make its way to India. But its EV version does have a lot of potential. This is an untested segment, and Jeep can go for its premium badge value. If Jeep launches the Avenger EV, it could go head to head with the Tata Nexon EV and MG ZS EV.
