The Maruti Brezza is killing it in the SUV segment. It is regularly in the top-3 selling SUVs in the country. So why is the Brezza so popular? The Brezza is an overall great package with features, good reliable engines and the Maruti service network. But not only the Brezza, the compact SUV segment is quite popular. So several manufacturers have cars in this segment, and we will be seeing some more in the coming time. In today’s article, let’s see upcoming Brezza rivals.
Tata Nexon facelift
The Brezza’s biggest rival has to be the Tata Nexon. Like the Brezza, the Nexon rarely drops below the top-3 list in the best-selling SUV. The Nexon last got a major update in 2020 but is still going strong. Now Tata is looking to stamp its authority with the Nexon facelift. In the facelift, we are expecting a major design overhaul. It is expected to get a design similar to the Curvv concept. In the interiors, also we are expecting major changes. Some new features include 10-inch infotainment, digital instrument cluster, touch-sensitive AC controls, paddle shifters, 360-degree camera etc. The Nexon facelift is expected to be launched by September or October 2023.
Upcoming Brezza rivals – Kia Sonet facelift
Kia is also working on the Sonet facelift for the Indian market. The car is been regularly spotted testing in South Korea. Considering Kia doesn’t sell Sonet in South Korea, the testing could be for the Indian market. In the facelift, we expect a sharper design at the front. The side profile will be more or less similar. At the rear, we get inverted L-shaped tail lamps similar to the Seltos facelift. What about the interior? The Interior are yet to be spotted, but we can expect new upholstery and some new features. Sonet facelift is expected to be launched by the end of 2023 or early 2024.
Honda Compact SUV
Honda has finally woken up from its slumber and is seriously thinking about the Indian market. It has finally unveiled the Honda Elevate to take on cars like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara etc. After the Elevate, Honda could bring a compact SUV to take on the Brezza. Details about this SUV are sparse, but we can expect it to be similar to the Elevate. It could share the same platform and mechanical bits as the Elevate. Feature-wise, it might miss out on some to not compete with its elder sibling. This Honda SUV is expected to be launched in 2024.
Upcoming Brezza rivals – Skoda Compact SUV
Like Honda, Skoda has also stated plans to bring a sub-four-metre SUV in the future. This SUV will fall under the ‘Project 2.5’ of the Skoda brand after the success of its ‘Project 2.0’. According to reports, the SUV will be based on the MQB A0 IN platform, similar to the Kushaq. It is also expected to share most of its parts and features with the Kushaq. Skoda has stated that the SUV is already in the early stages of development, and its launch is expected in 2024 or 2025.
