Toyota has been quite proactive in the last few years with new launches. It has launched products like the Glanza and Urban Cruiser HyRyder. Recently it launched its most popular car in its new avatar, the Innova HyCross. The Innova HyCross has become an instant success. So what’s next from Toyota? Toyota does have a sleeve of products it can launch. In today’s article, let’s talk about the upcoming Toyota cars 2023.

Rebadged Fronx

Maruti recently launched the all-new Fronx in the country. The Fronx is a beefed-up version of the Baleno hatchback. It comes with raised-up ground clearance and a coupe-like rear design. So why are we talking about the Fronx here? As we know, Toyota sells the badge-engineered Glanza. According to reports, Toyota will soon launch a badge-engineered version of the Fronx. The badge-engineered version will get some subtle design changes in the exterior. In the interiors, Toyota could give it different upholstery colours. The Toyota Fronx is expected to be launched in the upcoming few months.

Toyota Rumion

Another upcoming rebadge product from Toyota is the Rumion. The Rumion is the bade-engineered version of the Maruti Ertiga. Toyota already sells the Rumion outside in India, and in September, it is expected to launch it here. Barring the grille change and the Toyota logo, the Rumion is identical to the Ertiga. In the interiors, we can expect a change in the upholstery colour. What about the specifications? The Rumion will come with the same K15C 1.5-litre petrol engine. In terms of pricing, the Rumion will be a bit expensive, but Toyota could offer a better warranty.

New-Gen Fortuner

Upcoming Toyota cars 2023

The Fortuner as a product needs no introduction in the Indian market. It has ruled the full-size SUV segment for some time. Toyota has been one step ahead of its competitors with the Fortuner. Now Toyota wants to stay ahead of the game by bringing in the new-gen Fortuner. According to reports, the new Fortuner will be based on the TNGA-F platform and will accommodate a new mild-hybrid diesel engine. With the change in platform, it will also get a new design and several new features. The new-gen Fortuner is expected sometime in 2024.

Upcoming Toyota cars 2023 – 7-seater Corolla Cross

Upcoming Toyota cars 2023

Toyota holds a stronghold in the 7-seater segment. According to the report, Toyota is working on a new 7-seater based on the TNGA-C platform that also underpins the Innova HyCross. It will be smaller than the HyCross, but similar to other 7-seater SUVs in this segment. The car will take design inspiration from the Corolla Cross, which is a 5-seater. But for India, Toyota is planning to bring a 7-seater option. Specs-wise, it could come with a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol and the same engine with a strong hybrid setup. We think this 7-seater could start somewhere around Rs 14 to Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom), as the Innova HyCross starts from Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom).
