Maruti is on the offensive with one launch after another. It has forayed into the SUV segment with the Grand Vitara and also the Fronx. With the Fronx, Maruti re-introduced a turbo-petrol option in its lineup. Now this turbo petrol engine is expected to come in more Maruti cars in the future. One such car is the upcoming Maruti Swift. In today’s article, let’s talk about the new 2023 Maruti Swift.

New update

As stated above, Maruti plans to introduce the BoosterJet engine on several of its upcoming models. This 1.0-litre BoosterJet of Maruti is capable of producing 98bhp and 148Nm of torque. This engine on the Swift will be quite fun to drive, and it could be one of the most fun-to-drive cars in Maruti’s portfolio. Could Maruti call this variant the Swift Sport? Only time will tell.

What else do we know?

The new Swift has been spotted testing a few times. Even with the camouflage, we have spotted several new design details. It seems to be getting a sleeker design compared to the current model. The bonnet seems to be getting an elongated design. Maruti has changed the door handles position giving it a more rounded look. Also, the new Swift is expected to come with a strong hybrid petrol engine and a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated. This could mean the new Swift will come with three engine options – turbo petrol, strong hybrid and a naturally aspirated option. Which one will you buy? Do let us know in the comments.

The new-generation Swift has been regularly spotted testing in Europe. So it is expected to debut in 2023 for the European markets. What about India? The new Swift is yet to be spotted in India, but considering the popularity of Swift in the country, we can expect the launch soon after. Maruti could launch the new Swift in the second half of 2023 or early 2024.
