Kia Seltos facelift – when to expect?

Kia Seltos is a popular compact SUV that has garnered a lot of attention since its launch in 2019. The car has received numerous accolades for its aggressive design, features, and array of engine options. But in the last few months, the competition has heated up a lot. To counter this, Kia is working on a Seltos facelift for the Indian market. Jumping straight into the details, Kia has been quite tightlipped about the launch of the Seltos facelift. However, of late, the car has been spotted testing several times in various parts of the country. According to reliable sources, Kia is planning to launch the Seltos facelift in the second half of 2023. It could be just around the festive season for maximum traction.

Kia Seltos facelift launch – Exterior changes

The facelifted model has been spotted testing in the country and from the looks of it, it looks similar to the global model. At the front, we have a slightly tweaked grille design with LED DRLs cutting the grille in the middle. Below it, we have a tweaked bumper design and LED headlamps. There are not many changes in the side profile, but we can expect a new alloy wheel design. At the rear, we have a new connected tail lamp design. 

Specifications

Even though this is a facelift, Kia is going to tinker with the specifications. Kia recently discontinued the 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine on the Seltos. Now in the facelift, we expect Kia to offer the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. This engine is capable of producing 158bhp and 253Nm of torque. The 1.5-litre NA petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine are likely to remain the same. There could be some changes in the transmission options.

Kia is going to take a big step up in the interiors. We could see a single-piece curved display integrating into the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system. Other interior highlights are the rotary-style gear knob, updated HVAC controls and more. The spied test mules of the Seltos facelift have been spotted with a radar module hinting at the availability of ADAS. So ADAS could become a major selling point for the Seltos facelift.
