Kia 7-seater electric MPV spotted testing!

Kia has well and truly established itself in the Indian market. It is spreading its wings with cars in various segments. It has even targeted niche segments like EVs and 7-seaters. Now Kia has started working on another ambitious project. It is working on a 7-seater electric car. This car has been spotted testing for the first time in South Korea. In today’s article, let’s talk about Kia Carens Electric.

The spy shots were posted on the website of newcarscoops.com. From the overall dimensions, it seems to be a 7-seater the size of the Carens. Though there are no visible EV highlights, the alloy wheels seem to be what Kia employs on its EV. These alloy wheels help in drag reduction. The side profile of the car seems similar to the Kia Carens. The front and rear of the car have been well hidden, but have some resemblance to the ICE Carens. We can expect a slightly tweaked front and rear design. In the interior, we can expect blue highlights to go with EV nature. 

What else do we know?

Not much is known about the specifications of the electric RV. It could get a claimed range around the 400-500km ballpark. Kia will give it a motor similar in specifications to the ICE-Carens. What about features? The Kia Carens Electric is expected to come loaded with features like a digital instrument cluster, a big infotainment system, Bose sound system, ambient lighting etc. 

Kia Carens electric – Launch timeline

Kia at the launch of the EV6 had stated that it is working on an electric RV for the Indian market. The company didn’t disclose any details but stated that it will be launched by 2025. This electric 7-seater could be the first prototype of this RV.
