The Dzire constantly finds a place in the top-selling cars list. Even though it doesn’t face any major competition, Maruti wants to stay ahead of the game. Maruti is working on a major update for the Dzire. In today’s article, let’s talk about this best-selling sedan.
What to expect?
The new Swift is in the works, with Suzuki testing out the car in Europe. This means that its sedan sibling, the Dzire, could also get this update. So the spied Swift gets a lot of curvy bits compared to the current generation. On the Dzire, Maruti could continue the looks, but with some amount of differentiation.
Hybrid powertrain?
The new Swift is almost certain to come with a strong hybrid setup. This setup will be mated to the 1.2-litre petrol engine and is expected to deliver a mind-boggling mileage of around 35 to 40kmpl. According to sources, this engine will get a hybrid setup similar to the Grand Vitara. But the hybrid setup could shoot up the cost, and Maruti will have to be careful about the pricing. To play it safe, we think Maruti could also offer the pure petrol 1.2-litre engine on the new Swift.
Best-selling sedan – Launch details
The new Dzire is yet to be spotted in testing, but it is almost certain to get the same changes as the Swift. The new Swift is expected to be launched in the summer of 2023, so we think the Dzire could also be updated in a similar time frame. What about the pricing? Considering that Dzire is known for its VFM pricing, we don’t expect Maruti to tinker much with the pricing.
