Sonet CNG
The Sonet could become the first Kia car in India to come with CNG. Kia has been testing the car for a long time and recently it was spotted again. Kia was testing it on the X-line which comes only with the 1.0-litre turbo petrol. So Kia is testing the CNG on the turbo petrol engine, which seems interesting. Maruti has already launched the Brezza CNG and Kia could be looking to challenge it.
Carens 5-seater
Kia is reportedly working on a new base variant for the Carens. It is getting new trims like M-Drive and P-Drive. In the P-Drive, Kia has even homologated a 5-seater would be a game changer. The 5-seater option could be a game changer with the extra boot space. It will also help Kia to price the Carens more aggressively to take on the Maruti Ertiga.
Upcoming Kia cars 2023 – Seltos facelift
The Seltos was a car that established Kia in India. Since its launch in 2019, the Seltos hasn’t received any major updates. The Seltos still look contemporary, but Kia wants to stay ahead of the game by bringing the Seltos facelift. Kia has already launched the Seltos outside India. The facelift gets a new DRL design and also revised tail lamps. In the interiors, Kia has added a new digital instrument cluster, rotary gear shift and leather upholstery on the dashboard. What about the launch? The car has been regularly spotted testing in India, so we can expect a launch soon.
New Carnival
At the Auto Expo, Kia unveiled the all-new Carnival as the KA4. Since then the brand has been quite tightlipped about the launch of the all-new Carnival in India. But we still expect Kia to launch the new Carnival in the upcoming months. The new Carnival gets a major exterior re-work with bolder styling. In the interiors, we have a premium audio system, powered seats, ADAS etc.
Upcoming Kia cars 2023 – Affordable EV
With EVs gaining popularity, Kia and Hyundai have started working on an affordable EV option. This EV will be based on an existing model according to the brand. So it could be based on the Sonet considering the popularity of SUVs. It could get a different design and features from the ICE model. This car is still in the early stages of development so not much is known about the expected specifications. What about the launch? Kia has tentatively stated that it plans to launch the EV by the end of 2024.
