New Rs 12 lakh 7-seater coming next?
The 7-seater market has seen a massive boom in the last few years. MPVs were always popular, but more in the commercial space. Now they are finding popularity even among normal buyers. The affordable 7-seater market remains untested for many brands. Hyundai is one brand that doesn’t have a presence here, but that could soon change. Hyundai could bring the Stargazer to India. In today’s article, let’s talk about a Rs 12 lakh 7-seater.
Design
The Stargazer kind of started the DRL trend, which we are going to see on the new Verna. Below the DRL, we have Hyundai’s new ‘Parametric grille’ flanked by LED headlamps on both sides. From the looks of it, the Stargazer looks more like an MPV than a 7-seater SUV. The rear overhang gives the Stargazer an egg-like shape. At the rear, we have connecting taillamp design.
Rs 12 lakh 7-seater – Specifications
The Stargazer sold in Indonesia comes with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. We expect Hyundai to continue with this engine on the Indian version. Additionally, we could also see the 1.5-litre diesel engine like the Carens. Also, Hyundai could give the new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, which is expected to come on the Carens. Transmission could include manual and automatic options.
Interior and features
The Stargazer sold in Indonesia comes with a simple looking dashboard layout. At the centre, we have a floating infotainment system adding modernity to the cabin. Hyundai has tried to use soft touch material to as many points as possible. What about the features? The Stargazer comes with connected car technology, wireless charging and roof-mounted AC vents. Globally, Hyundai even offers ADAS on the Stargazer.
Rs 12 lakh 7-seater – India launch?
In 2023, Hyundai debuted the Stargazer in Indonesia. Since then, it has launched the car in other Southeast Asian markets. So what about India? Hyundai is yet to confirm anything about bringing the Stargazer to India. But with the growth of the 7-seater market, Hyundai should try to bring the Stargazer to India. Hyundai should try to bring it by the end of this year.
