New Tata hatchback for 2023
Hatchbacks have always been the preferred choice in the country. Even with the SUV craze, hatchbacks continue to sell in good numbers. Tata currently has the Tiago and Altroz in its hatchback lineup. But that is soon going to change, as Tata is bringing a new hatchback in 20023. This hatchback is the new Altroz Racer Tata showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. In today’s article, let’s talk about this new Tata hatchback.
Design updates
The overall size and dimensions of the Altroz Racer are the same as the normal Altroz. To go with the sporty name, the Altroz Racer comes with a stylish black bonnet and white strips that extend up to the roof. Other changes include blacked-out alloy wheels and an extended spoiler. The new additions suit the Altroz giving it a fresh look.
New Tata hatchback – Specifications
The design and all are good, but the real deal is under the hood. The Altroz Racer comes with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol that Tata uses on the Nexon. This engine is capable of producing 118bhp and 170Nm of torque. To cater to enthusiasts, the Altroz Racer only comes with a manual gearbox option. With the new engine, we can expect a 0 to 100 time under 10 seconds on the Altroz Racer.
Interior and features
Tata has loaded the Altroz Racer with features. In terms of new features, we have a 10-inch infotainment system, ventilated seats, wireless charging, a digital instrument cluster, 6 airbags, a reverse parking camera and an electric sunroof. Other existing features include automatic climate control, a three-spoke steering wheel, ESC, roll-over mitigation etc.

Tata is yet to reveal the exact launch timeline of the Altroz Racer. However, there are strong reports that Tata indeed plans to launch the Altroz Racer in the upcoming few months. What about the pricing? The Tata Altroz could be priced around the Rs 12 lakh mark (on-road, Mumbai).
