Maruti has certainly upped its game in the SUV segment. At the expo, we saw Maruti launching two new SUVs – the Jimny and Fronx. The Jimny garnered most of the attention, but the Fronx seems to be another winner from Maruti. So what will be the pricing of the Fronx? In today’s article, let’s talk about the Maruti Fronx price.

Maruti didn’t reveal the pricing of the Fronx at the auto expo. For now, it has just opened the bookings. So what can be the expected price? The Fronx will sit above the Baleno in Maruti’s Nexa outlets. Currently, the Baleno starts from the Rs 7.64 lakh mark. With the changes on the Fronx, we expect the Fronx to start somewhere around the Rs 8.50 lakh mark. The top models could be Rs 13 to Rs 14 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). This higher pricing is due to the turbo engine, which would be priced at a premium by Maruti.
Design
The Fronx takes heavy design inspiration from the Grand Vitara. So we have eyebrow DRL that integrates into the chrome element. We have a massive grille that gets the Suzuki badge in the middle. Headlamps are placed lower on the bumper with the fog lamps eliminated. As we come to the side profile, we can see the tapering roofline as the standout element. At the rear, we have a connected taillamp design like the Grand Vitara.
Specifications
The Fronx comes with two petrol engine options. The first is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine capable of producing 87bhp and 113Nm of torque. Transmission on this engine includes a manual and an AMT gearbox. For enthusiasts, Maruti is offering a 1.0-litre BoosterJet engine capable of producing 100bhp and 150Nm of torque. This engine comes with a manual and an automatic gearbox.

Features have become an integral part of the car-buying experience in India. Maruti knows this and has loaded the Fronx with features like a 9.0-inch floating infotainment system, heads-up display, six airbags, ARKAMYS Surround Sense, and a 360-degree camera. Safety features include dual airbags, ABS + EBD, ESC etc.
