New Maruti SUV to be called Fronx!
Maruti is on an SUV launching spree at the Auto Expo 2023. Yesterday it unveiled its electric SUV concept, the eVX. The eVX looks like a promising product, but everyone is waiting for the Jimny and Coupe SUV. We know about the Jimny, but now the name of the Coupe SUV has leaked before launch! It will be called the Fronx. In today’s article, let’s talk about the 2023 Maruti Fronx.
What do we know?
Currently, Maruti is doing the rehearsal of the Jimny and Fronx. We have been covering the Fronx (Baleno Cross) extensively. For starters, the Fronx will be a coupe SUV with a tapering roofline. It will be geared towards a sportier look to go with the coupe design. From the spy shots, it seems to have a front design similar to the Grand Vitara.
What else to expect?
The Fronx is expected to come with the 1.0-litre BoosterJet engine capable of producing 100bhp and 150Nm torque. Transmission options could include a manual and an automatic gearbox. Other mechanical parts could be shared with the Baleno hatchback. Other than that, it could share its features and interior with the Baleno hatchback. So we can expect a floating infotainment system heads-up display, 360-degree camera etc.
2023 Maruti Fronx – Launch and pricing
Maruti will be unveiling the Fronx today at 10:05 am, so stay tuned on our social media platforms to catch the live updates. The launch of the Fronx may happen in April this year. What about the pricing? The Fronx could start from somewhere around the Rs 12 lakh (on-road, Mumbai) mark.
