Hyundai Punch rival launch expectations!
The success of Tata Punch took everyone by surprise. Before the Punch, the small SUV segment was almost non-existent. But now all manfactueres want a piece of this segment. Hyundai is working on a small SUV. So can it take on the Punch? In today’s article, let’s talk about this new Hyundai Punch rival.
Design
A few months back, the Punch rival was first time spotted testing in South Korea. It seems to be getting quite a quirky design. Just to add context, it seems to have taken heavy design inspiration from the Casper sold in South Korea. At the front, we could see circular headlamps and eyebrow DRLs similar to the Venue. The side profile could be clean with not many creases and cuts. Coming to the rear, we could see a tail lamp design similar to the pre-facelift Venue.
New Hyundai Punch rival – Specifications
Hyundai’s Punch rival is expected to share its platform with the Grand i10 Nios. It could also share its engine options with the same. So it is expected to come with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. Recently, Hyundai discontinued the 1.0-litre turbo petrol on the Grand i10 Nios facelift, so we may or may not see the turbo option on the Punch rival. Transmission options include manual and automatic gearbox options.
Features
Being a Hyundai, the Punch rival will come loaded with all the necessary features. Some of the highlighted features could include a 10-inch infotainment system, automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, a digital instrument cluster, etc. Safety features could include 6 airbags, ABS + EBD, electronic stability control and more.

Hyundai has just unveiled this Punch rival in India. According to the brand, it plans to launch the car just before the festive season. What about the pricing? It could start from Rs 6 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). As a product, it will rival the Tata Punch and Citroen C3.
