Hyundai’s most premium car coming to India?
Hyundai as a brand has always portrayed its car as premium offerings on a budget. It has made this image by offering premium features and interiors at an affordable price. However, as the market matures, Hyundai is looking to up its game. It wants to truly position itself as a premium brand with cars like the Tucson and IONIQ-5. Outside India, Hyundai has premium SUVs like Palisade. So can Hyundai bring the Palisade to India? In today’s article, let’s talk about the Hyundai Palisade 2023.
Hyundai Palisade 2023 – Dimensions & design
Dimension-wise, the Palisade is 4980mm in length, 1976mm in width & 1750mm in height. It sits on a wheelbase of 2900mm and has a ground clearance of 200mm. What about the design? The Palisade recently got a facelift giving it a more aggressive front look. The front design of the Venue facelift takes heavy inspiration from the Palisade. At the side, you can see the big overhang and the sheer size of the Palisade. At the rear, we have C-shaped tail lamps and dual exhausts.
Specifications
Globally, the Palisade comes with a 3.8-litre V6 engine. It would be a dream if Hyundai brings it to India. However, that will most likely not happen, seeing the costs involved. So which engine could it get? Hyundai could bring back the 2.2-litre diesel engine that once powered the Santa Fe in India. Hyundai will just have to retune the engine to fulfil the needs of the Palisade. We expect it to come paired with an automatic gearbox only.
Hyundai Palisade 2023 – Interior & Features
Hyundai cars are known for their features, and it is no different for the Palisade. The dashboard is neat, with the only distraction being the floating infotainment system. This 10-inch infotainment system is connected to the instrument cluster. Hyundai has given it greyish interiors, giving the cabin an airy look. What about the features? Globally, the Palisade comes with a 12-speaker Harman audio system, wireless connectivity, ventilated seats, ambient lighting and much more. It also comes with ADAS features for that extra layer of safety.
Will it come to India?
Now coming to the most important question, could it come to India? In 2020, Hyundai was evaluating the Palisade for India. However, that never materialised, and it seems that will remain the case for some years. But as the Indian market grows, Hyundai will need to diversify its portfolio by bringing cars like the Palisade to India.
