KTM which stands for ‘Kraftfahrzeuge Trunkenpolz Mattighofen’ (motor vehicle) is an Austrian bike manufacturer which specializes in track-focused bikes. If we talk about its presence in the Indian market, it stands true to its track racing DNA with all of its machines getting the ‘Ready To Race’ moniker. It has the Duke and RC compelling to young audiences who always want punchy performances. Then, if we talk about the 390 Adventure, it comes with all the adventure touring packed. All in all, it does have a commendable portfolio which it wants to further expand in the future. So what’s next from the brand? Let’s find out about upcoming bikes from KTM.
Upcoming KTM bikes – Duke 200
The KTM Duke 200 was the bike which kickstarted the brand’s Indian journey. This bike paved a successful pathway for the Austrian manufacturer and hence has a salient presence for the brand. To keep up the model in the game, KTM has planned to bring a new generation Duke 200 for Indian buyers. This new bike was spotted testing on roads which revealed its new design for the fuel tank and revised sleeker headlamps and tail lamps. Also, we could spot the replacement of the front brake discs to the other which is derived from the next generation RC models. Some of the other changes include a similar LCD instrument cluster to the 250 Adventure.
Duke 790
The ‘Ready To Race’ badging is not just limited to the 390cc models. The brand also has some extremely aggressive bikes on its global lineup. One of the bikes is the Duke 790 which sits between the Duke 390 and the Duke 890. The brand launched it in the year 2019 but had to bid adieu due to the stringent emission norms. However, there are chances that the brand will bring it back in the upcoming year. If launched, it could be one of the meanest looking bikes with a performance-packed engine too making 103bhp and 87Nm of torque. The pricing of this bike is expected to start at Rs 8.70 lakh (ex-showroom).
Upcoming KTM bikes – New 390 Adventure
Adventure bikes are selling like hotcakes and certainly have increased their VFM aspect. The KTM 390 Adventure serves in this category with its commendable equipment. Moreover, that is soon to upgrade because the new generation bike is spotted testing which is likely to come with numerous upgrades. For starters, we could see an upgraded version of the Trellis frame focusing towards better endurance and offroad performance. An upgraded suspension system can also be seen along with the underbelly exhaust setup, new headlamp design and a long visor.
Upcoming KTM bikes – New Duke 890 Adventure
Having two adventure bikes rather than one has always proven beneficial. Another bike that could be brought to India from the KTM global models is the 890 Adventure. As the name suggests, it is the more powerful bike with 103bhp and 100Nm of torque. To capitalize more on the adventure segment, this bike could be the perfect option for buyers who are willing to upgrade to a higher displacement bike.
