The mid-size 7-seater SUV has been in the limelight since the launch of the XUV700. However, before the XUV700, the Tata Safari enjoyed a certain monopoly in this segment. Then Hyundai launched the Alcazar. But these cars are still new in this segment compared to the Innova. The Innova has been a legend in this segment and it recently got an major update. With this update, the Innova has gotten a hybrid engine and several modern features. It’s unveil has sent ripples through the 7-seater market. Hyundai is also working on a facelift for the Alcazar. The spy shots didn’t reveal the interiors, but we can expect some minor tweaks. Hyundai could give it a different upholstery and some tweaks on the dashboard. Could it get new features? Hyundai could give the Alcazar facelift ADAS functionality. Other than that, the Alcazar is already a feature-loaded car, and we don’t expect any more features.

Specifications

Alcazar facelift

Considering it’s a facelift, we expect Hyundai to retain the same engine options and also the same dimensions. So it will continue with the 2.0-litre MPi capable of producing 158bhp and 191Nm of torque and the 1.5-litre diesel engine capable of producing 113bhp and 250Nm of torque. Both engines come with manual and automatic transmission options. Additionally, it could get a CNG option. Earlier this year, the Alcazar CNG was spotted testing with an Arai sticker. So that could be quite a possibility.

Hyundai Alcazar facelift – Launch timeline

Alcazar facelift

The Alcazar facelift is yet to be spotted testing in India. However, Hyundai is on an updating spree and could update several of its cars next year. It is bringing the new Verna, Creta facelift, i20 facelift and i10 Grand i10 Nios facelift. So it’s hard to predict when Hyundai could bring the Alcazar facelift. It could happen by the end of 2023 or early 2024. With its modern features and diesel engine, the Alcazar could take the fight to the Innova HyCross as the cheaper yet more feature rich option.
