Honda City facelift in PROBLEM
The Honda City is one of the most well-known sedans in our market. It is still an aspirational product even in this SUV craze. However, the increased competition has forced Honda into bringing a facelifted model. This facelifted model could get a new design and features. New design
The new Verna has been spotted testing in the Indian market. From the spy shots, it is clear that the new model is bigger than the current model. With the new Verna, Hyundai is looking to fill the gap left by the Elantra. So the new model will get a design in line with the Elantra. The new Verna will get a Parametric Jewel grille like the new Venue and Tucson. Another notable thing could be a bonnet-wide tail lamp design at the rear.
Hyundai Verna 2023 – Specifications
As mentioned above, the new Verna will be bigger than the current model. So Hyundai will have to give it a more powerful engine. So what can we expect? It can give the new Verna the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol that it uses on the Hyundai Creta. This engine is capable of producing 138bhp & 242Nm of torque. This engine will help the new Verna blow the Honda City’s 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine out of the water and also help it fight the more powerful Slavia and Virtus. Hyundai will continue with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated and 1.5-litre diesel engine. Hyundai could also give it an iMT gearbox like its other cars.
Interior & Features
Earlier this year, we got exclusive spy shots revealing interior bits of the car. The spied car came with all-black interiors and a floating infotainment system. Other than that, we could expect it to come loaded with features. It could get features like a digital instrument cluster, an electric sunroof, a heads-up display, improved connected car technology and a 360-degree camera.
Hyundai Verna 2023 – Launch timeline
Currently, Hyundai is rigorously testing the new Verna. The car is regularly spotted testing in India and globally. This could indicate that the car is in its final stages of development. If that is true, Hyundai could unveil the car in South Korea by the end of this year or early next year. There is a possibility that Hyundai could unveil the new Verna at the Auto Expo of 2023. However, the chance of that happening is slim as Hyundai would want to first unveil the car in its developed markets.
