New engine specifications
As Mahindra is set to use the Scorpio-N’s platform in this car, it is likely to get the same engine options. Moreover, the spotted car in India also gets the same suspension setup as the Big Daddy. The added weight of the extended wheelbase and more interior cabin space provides higher chances for this car to get more powerful engines. So, the Thar 5 door could get 2.0-litre petrol producing 200bhp and 370Nm of torque and a 2.2-litre diesel producing 172bhp and 370Nm of torque.

The 3 door version of the Thar lacks various basic features. So, the Thar 5 door might fill the void by getting a dead pedal, a more spacious glove box and a centre armrest. These are very essential features while doing road trips and their absence can induce lethargy faster.
