New Toyota CNG cars are here!

Toyota is on a roll with several new launches this year. It has launched the Glanza and the Urban Cruiser HyRyder. The change in Toyota’s strategy happened after it collaborated with Maruti. But now it seems that Toyota is doing something it has never done. So what is this thing? It is the addition of CNG in its cars. Toyota has brought CNG to the Glanza and the Urban Cruiser HyRyder. In today’s article, lets talk about these Toyota CNG cars.

Glanza CNG

The Glanza CNG has been in the news, and the news of Toyota homologating the model surfaced online in September. Since then, people have been waiting for the model, and Toyota has finally launched the Glanza CNG. Toyota is calling its CNG the E-CNG, and E-CNG has been introduced in the S & G grades with manual transmission. There are no exterior changes and in the interior, the boot will be compromised. Also, it comes with the same engine, but power figures have dropped to 75bhp from 88bhp in the pure petrol variant. The E-CNG Glanza comes with a claimed mileage of 30.61KM/KG. The pricing of the G variant starts from Rs 8.43 lakh and the S variant starts from Rs 9.46 lakh (ex-showroom). 

Toyota CNG cars- Toyota HyRyder CNG

Unlike the Glanza, the Urban Cruiser HyRyder CNG announcement has come out of the blue. Bookings for the Urban Cruiser HyRyder have started and prices will be announced in the upcoming days. The E-CNG Urban Cruiser HyRYder will come with a 1.5-litre K series engine with a 5-speed manual transmission. This engine will deliver a mileage of 26.1KM/KG. Urban Cruiser HyRyder will be the only SUV in the mid-size SUV category to come with factory-fitted CNG.

For the readers thinking how did Toyota do this? It’s simple. Toyota has used Maruti’s help with the latter’s S-CNG technology which enables them to provide factory fitted and tuned CNG vehicles. Also both the engines, on these cars are Maruti units that would help with seamless integration. Thus, here we now have Toyota CNG cars now.
