Mahindra has witnessed huge growth in terms of sales and popularity in the past few years. It has completely turned over a new leaf and has started attracting a new class of buyers along with retaining its older ones. Earlier known for its rugged and hardcore vehicles, the brand now has plans to break some new grounds. It has been aiming to stay head to head with the market by offering well-rounded vehicles like the XUV700 and the newly launched Scorpio-N. However, the brand has not concluded its year yet. Mahindra is all set to unveil 8 more cars this year. In today’s article, let’s have a look at these 8 new cars from Mahindra.

To mark a grand statement in the EV segment, Mahindra is geared up to showcase 5 new all-electric cars on the 15th of August this year. These new cars from Mahindra have been built from grounds-up, keeping in mind the Indian environment and driving conditions. The brand partnered with Volkswagen not so long ago. The mechanical bits are thus expected to come from Volkswagen under its MEB components range. This will help the brand keep costs in check. Overall, this new ‘Born Electric’ plan is touted to create a lot of buzz in the market.

Mahindra Scorpio Classic

With the Scorpio-N, the brand has made a record of acquiring 1 lakh bookings in just 30 minutes but this doesn’t mean that the original car is leaving the stable. Mahindra plans to continue the Scorpio Classic with some updated knicks and knacks to make it look modern. It will carry on the Classic design along with the mHawk diesel motor. The Scorpio Classic will get an updated infotainment system, a new set of alloys, a ‘Classic’ Badging at the rear, and the new ‘Twin Peaks’ logo on the front grille. Mahindra is expected to launch it in the coming months.

Spotted in disguise, it shares styling and design from the XUV300 with some minor changes over the front and rear. In terms of space and practicality, it is touted to be longer than the XUV300 (length said to be around 4.2m). The EV is also touted to get high-energy-dense NMC battery cells which could offer high range & good performance. The electric SUV is set to hit the markets in September this year.

It is said to come with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol with direct injection and overboost technologies. With this, it is expected to make 128bhp & 230Nm of torque. Justifying the sporty element, it may get red brake calipers, a sporty vinyl on the body, and some red inserts in the interior panels such as the steering wheel, center dash panels, and door pads.
