The electric revolution is slowly finding its feat in India. More & more manufacturers are working on electric products to tap on this growth. But even before the electric craze, Mahindra knew that electric cars are the future. Sadly for the brand, it didn’t work out as well as hoped, but now Mahindra is re-entering the EV segment. It plans to unveil its Born Electric cars and also bring the electric version of the XUV300 in the coming time. Mahindra is expected to call this car the XUV400. Today, we have obtained new spy shots of the Mahindra XUV400 before its launch. What do they reveal? In today’s article, let’s find out.

Mahindra XUV400 launch

The XUV400 was spotted by one of our readers. It was spotted testing somewhere in Bangalore. What do the spy shots reveal? The car is covered in heavy camouflage, but we can see some details. We can see the rear profile of the car with a tweaked taillamp design. The car doesn’t come with a rear wiper indicating that this could be a mid variant. What else can we spot? We can see a new alloy wheel design and roof rails.

What else do we know?

Mahindra XUV400 launch

According to earlier reports, the XUV400 will not be a compact car like its ICE counterpart. It will be based on the original SsangYong Tivoli platform. What is Mahindra’s motive behind this move? EVs already have low taxation. Taking full advantage of this opportunity, Mahindra has decided to skip the non-existent sub-four-metre taxations and has used this extra space for the boot. The XUV400 is expected to come loaded with a lot of technology. ADAS could be something that this EV is expected to come with to take on the competition.

New Mahindra XUV400 – Battery and range information

Mahindra has been quite tightlipped about the battery figures. There are speculations that it could get a 150bhp motor. What about the range figures? Mahindra is said to use high-density NMC cells which are known for great performance and range figures. As mentioned above, the XUV400 is an important product for Mahindra, so it would definitely want to give the XUV400 segment-leading power and range figures.

Mahindra XUV400 launch

Of late, the XUV400 has been spotted multiple times in various parts of the country. If rumours are to be believed, the XUV400 could see a launch sometime next month. However, we will have to wait for a confirmation from the brand. What about the pricing? Mahindra has been quite aggressive with its pricing and we can expect the same with the XUV400. We expect Mahindra to price it somewhere between Rs 18 lakh to Rs 22 lakh (ex-showroom). At this pricing, it will mainly rival the likes of Tata Nexon EV Prime, Tata Nexon EV Max and MG ZS EV.
