The Brezza launch is almost here. Tomorrow, Maruti will finally be taking the wraps off the new Brezza. So why are we so hyped about this car? It will be getting a new design and a host of new features. In today’s article, we will be talking about ten things you must know about the new Maruti Brezza a day before launch.
New exterior design
The exterior of the car has been out in the public for quite some time now. The front fascia will now get a new grille with chrome and sleeker headlamps with LED DRLs. Other highlights will include an updated roof design and a dual-tone roof. At the rear, we will get to see a new set of sleeker tail lamps and the Brezza badging.
New Maruti Brezza – Interior design
Interiors have been the biggest weakness of the current Brezza. Maruti has rectified this in the new one. How do we know this? From the spy shots and the teaser, it is clear that Maruti has re-worked the dashboard and has added a lot of new features which we will be discussing in a bit. This will surely enhance the appeal of the new Brezza.
Mild-hybrid engine
The Brezza already comes with Maruti’s Smart Hybrid technology. But this is quite a basic application of hybrid technology. So what is Maruti improving? The new Brezza Maruti is slightly improving the technology to provide better efficiency. This is expected to make the Brezza the most fuel-efficient car in its segment. The Brezza is set to come with the updated 1.5-litre petrol engine that powers the new Ertiga & XL6. We will have to wait for tomorrow to know the exact mileage figures.
Electric sunroof
Maruti, after years of avoiding sunroof has had to finally embraced it. Such has been the craze of this feature in the last few years. Even with its limited usage, people want it in their cars. Interestingly, the Brezza will become the first Maruti car to get a factory-fitted sunroof.
360-degree camera
A 360-degree camera is a must-have feature on all SUVs. It is quite useful when manoeuvring and parking in congested spaces. Maruti even brought this feature on the new Baleno. So it will definitely be a very useful for the new Brezza buyers.
New Maruti Brezza – SmartPlay Pro+
The new Brezza will get a new infotainment system which Maruti calls the SmartPlay Pro+. We have seen this infotainment system on the new Baleno and XL6. It is quite a smooth system with a user-friendly interface design and we have already experienced it on both the existing cars.
Heads-up display
Maruti surprised everyone by introducing a heads-up display in the new Baleno. So how could Brezza miss out on this? The new Brezza will also be receiving the same system. It will be the first car in its segment to get a heads-up display.
Paddle shifters
Automatic gearboxes are quickly becoming the go-to choices for most people. Add paddle shifters and you have a fun & sporty combination. Maruti is giving the Brezza a new six-speed gearbox along with paddle shifters. Currently, only the Kia Sonet comes with paddle shifters in this segment.
Suzuki Connect
The Brezza will come with the next-generation Suzuki Connect features. So what does it mean? Maruti is yet to reveal what features the connected car tech will offer but it is expected to get features similar to the new Baleno (smartwatch connectivity, vehicle lock, remote immobiliser and vehicle tracking).
New Maruti Brezza – Price
The new Brezza is getting a big makeover, so we expect it to get a substantial price increase. We expect a price increase of Rs 80,000 to Rs 1 lakh, depending upon the variants. So this would translate into a starting price of around Rs 10 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
